Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery technique which was originally used for mending but is today used as a decorative form of needlework. The simple stitching with the traditional combination of indigo dyed fabric and white thread creates a striking embroidery. It can be used for table linen, clothes, bags, cushion covers, and patchwork.
